Benfica saved themselves from defeat by losing twice during the home match against Ajax. The hero of the evening was the Ukrainian striker of the Lisbon club, who, coming on as a substitute, set the final score – 2:2.

The game itself, and especially the first half, went more like Ajax’s scenario. Guests very cool pressure, covering the “Benfica” in her own penalty area. Actually, that’s how the first ball was scored. The Portuguese attacked, but under pressure were forced to move away from the Ajax penalty area to their own. And then a pass to the goalkeeper, who frankly unsuccessfully sent the ball to the flank of Grimaldo. The loss of the Spaniard cost the hosts dearly – in a couple of seconds, Dusan Tadic hit the far corner of the Benfica goal.

And then came the three-minute Sebastien Alle. First shock forward “Ajax” cut the ball into his own net after a strong chamber Vertonghen. Then the same duet was noted at the gates of Benfica. True, Vlachimos coped with the blow of his Belgian defender, but Alle was the first to finish. For him, it was the 11 th ball in seven matches of the debut season of the Champions League.

Before the break and already in the second half, Mazraoui had excellent chances to score and, possibly, to remove questions about the winner. In the first case, the ball hit the post, in the second, Benfica was rescued by the goalkeeper.

Finally, at the 72 minute, Yaremchuk, who appeared shortly before, said his word. The striker finished off the ball into the net of the Ajax goal, and then, celebrating the goal, showed a T-shirt with a Ukrainian trident!
