Scotland head coach Steve Clarke summed up the disappointing result of his team’s first match at the Euro2024. In the opening match, the Scots were defeated by the German team – 1:5. Moreover, the guests conceded three goals in the first half.
– Germany was unstoppable, and, unfortunately, we could not compete with them. In the first half we missed everything very quickly. We couldn’t gain a foothold in the game.
Tough evening. We didn’t play at our level. It feels like we’ve let ourselves down. We are stronger than we showed today and hopefully we can show that in the next two matches. Our goal is four points in the next two matches,” the official UEFA website quotes Clarke.
The German national team won a landslide victory in the opening match of the Euro-2024, defeating the Scots – 5:1.
